2011 marked our family's 35th Year Anniversary in Miniature Horses. Ed and Marianne started their horse business in 1976 with 2 children- John and Heather. Soon the family and farm grew adding Robin and Brian with a move to Madison Indiana. Now, Brian and Robin and her family live on the farm. Robin helps manage and run the day to day operations as well as handles all the sales and marketing. John and his wife Melinda live in Versailles Ky with their own miniature horse training and breeding facility- Arion Management. John is also the leading miniature horse geneticist in the country. Heather and her husband live in Indianapolis where she uses miniatures as part of her family therapy sessions as an MSW. And so with our successful history in this business, we are now going into the 3rd generation of Eberth's and our next generation of horses.
Since the passing of both Buckeroo and Dr Ed, Marianne no longer has her heart in the miniature horse endeavor. We are moving in a different direction beginning in 2013. She is heading for relaxation and less stress and Robin is doing more with her small children, judging shows and showing the ponies. So we have altered our direction to the Next Generation of Buckeroos!
Our goal is to create the most well balance, performance driven small equine with the "Look at Me Look" of Buckeroo. We are no longer concerned with height under 34" or AMHA "only" registered stock. We have added to our Buckeroo lines, several AMHR and ASPC horses. Marianne has also dabbled in the American Hackney Pony Ring, making her expectations of a miniature horse even higher! These new goals to perfect the small equine by using the consistent heritage of Buckeroo is proving to be very exciting for us!
We look forward to the future of Little King Farm. Although we have no plans to produce 100+ miniature foals a year as we have done so for several years now, we do plan on striving to continue to produce World and National Champion quality horses, share our experiences and education of the past 35 years with the equine industry and maintain LKF for years to come by hosting events and sales.
Please browse our site and feel free to call or email regarding any of our horses, dogs, and events going on at LKF!
